Mannheim - Baden Württemberg / Germany 07.21.2019: Close Up of Smartphone Display with Social Media Application Icons

From floating hotels, to sanctuaries for the soul, we share a selection of their favourite photographic #nofilter venues for memorable meetings and events…

Conservatorium Museumplein, Amsterdam

A beautiful place to work and meditate, the Conservatorium Hotel is home to immersible and tranquil spaces. Losing yourself in its Instagram, it’s easy to see why this sumptuous property in the heart of Amsterdam has been repeatedly crowned the number one luxury hotel in the Netherlands.

A graceful, architectural masterpiece offers a range of restaurants, a bar, lounge and 1,000 square metre Akasha Holistic Wellbeing. Divided into four areas corresponding with the elements of nature, Akasha Holistic Wellbeing promises restoration and rejuvenation. The urban retreat includes a dazzling pool, a private Hammam, and the best equipped gym of any hotel in Amsterdam. And with indulgent therapies, treatments, nutrition, meditation and more, your delegates wellbeing won’t be left wanting!

For meetings and events, the venue’s six magnificent spaces all provide natural light and ‘state-of-the-art technology’ – from beamers to LCD screens. Its Symphony Room can accommodate 120 guests – theatre style – and 100 for dinner.

In this vibrant and elegant setting, the Van Gogh Museum, Concertgebouw, Rijksmuseum, Vondelpark and Amsterdam’s most indulgent shopping are on your doorstep. For a combination of culture, business, luxury and wellness, it’s one of our favourites.

Good Hotel, Royal Victoria Dock – London

There is nothing like knowing that you’re doing ‘good’ for lifting your spirits and inspiring you to do more. The Good Group ‘aims to showcase a different approach to doing business.’ They call their approach SOCIAL BUSINESS, and everything they do is geared towards creating human value, for the long term – re-investing all profits to give back to communities and support people. So, how is this reflected in the Good Hotel?

The London property sits on the waterfront and reflects its location with industrial design and a rooftop terrace with breath-taking views of the river Thames. This floating building was created from an abandoned accommodation barge, transported from Amsterdam to its London home. It’s staff of previously unemployed locals were trained and employed by the group, and for every night you spend here, a child in Guatemala gets one week of schooling.

As if it matters what the meeting space is like when you’ve read all that!! Anyway, this venue is perfect for entrepreneurs or freelancers – with quiet spots for small meetups, creative spaces for creating projects, and views to inspire. Hosting a meeting or event? Then this floating hotel with a social mission has large private spaces too. The biggest, an in-room pantry for 60 people theatre-style, has a minimalist industrial-chic design, with riverside views, natural daylight and daily delegate packages. And of course, there’s that rooftop bar and terrace – available for private hire, and an open-plan Living Room for up to 120 cocktail style, with room for your own pop-up bar.

The group has hotels in London and Antigua, with Amsterdam, Guatemala City and more coming soon.

Down Hall Hotel & Spa, Hatfield Heath – Essex

You now your event is in safe hands with Down Hall. As one of England’s most established country house hotels dating back to 1322, it is grand and ornate, yet light and airy. It is also in a great location – only 9 miles from Stansted Airport, 40 minutes from central London by train, and close to the M11 and M25.

With grounds big enough for every imaginable team build activity, from laser clays and Segway challenges, to 4×4 driving experiences, archery and more, its outdoor space is fantastic. And with 14 private dining and meeting spaces, the venue can host events ranging from intimate boardroom to larger functions for up to 200 delegates.

Its four private rooms within the Mansion House all have high ceilings and natural light. And they combine with original characteristics – open fireplaces and Edwardian style doorways – to give comfortable surroundings and a homely feel. What’s more, 10 private rooms in the West Wing include a ballroom that caters for 180, or 200 theatre style.

We love the flexibility of independent properties, and as such, the Down Hall team can adapt your menu to suit the event. Its beautiful spa gives plenty of options for delegate downtime and with 100 bedrooms, ranging from classic doubles, to deluxe and feature rooms, the hotel will give guests a stay to remember!

Pentahotel Ernest Street/Holloway Head – Birmingham

We love little details, and Penta Hotels are full of them. Every little nook or cranny has something that’ll have you reaching for your camera.

The 131-bedroom Penta Birmingham has the enthusiasm, know-how and tech to make your events and meeting come to life. Whether it’s for a small meeting, or an event up to theatre style for 60, all spaces are on the first floor, with natural light and AC. The pentalounge provides delegates with a place to eat, play pool and computer games, or they can work out in the venue’s gym after a day of strategising.

The place has a wonderfully boutique feel, and it’s one you can find comfort in all over the world  – from Austria to Asia, and Reading to Russia!

Ricoh Arena – Longford, Coventry

We’re keeping it in the midlands for our next venue. Let’s face it, sometimes, it’s not the venue you’re snapping your pics of, it’s the experiences you’re there for. That’s why we chose the Ricoh…

From sport to music icons, to conferences and exhibitions, there’s not much you can’t host or join here. There’s a range of rooms, lounges and halls for small and medium-sized meetings, small and large conferences, training, banqueting, or exhibitions, so you can cater for seven to 7000 delegates!

And with purpose-built venue of this size, you know AV and catering can be taken care of by huge, specialist teams – and, of course, it even has its own stage which is modular and can be broken down for flexibility.

The venue is making bigger waves in the meetings and events industry this year, exhibiting at The Meetings Show 2019 in June. They exhibited with Birmingham Airport, the West Midlands Growth Company, Shakespeare’s England, Conference Coventry & Warwickshire along with other partners such as Warwick Conferences and Stoneleigh.

Jenni Ford, Head of Sales at Ricoh Arena, who represented the venue at the show, said: “Ricoh Arena is at the heart of a region that is looking forward to Coventry’s year as City of Culture in 2021, as well as the Commonwealth Games in 2022, and attending events such as this are really important to ensure we are maximising these opportunities. Ricoh Arena plays a key role in attracting hundreds of thousands of people to the city every year for conferences, exhibitions, meetings, live sport and live music – as well as hotel stays – and our aim is to grow this further and encourage more people to do business in the region over the coming years.”
